Join us in bringing in the new year with our Annual "New Beginnings"  Experiential Event!

Sunday, January 22, 2017

Mindfulness has become central to contemporary psychotherapy and is called the "Third Wave" of clinical practice. There are many ways to understand the essence of mindfulness that correspond to multiple forms of meditation and embodied practices like yoga.

This event will outline five separate qualities of mindful awareness and the importance of each to psychotherapists, both within our personal and professional lives. Terry will lead a guided imagery exercise to help us experience open awareness, followed by a mindful coloring exercise that is drawn from her new adult coloring book, Truly Mindful Coloring.

Learning Objectives
In successfully completing and attending this presentation,
participants will be able to:
*Understand the origins and types of mindfulness training in psychotherapy.*
*List 5 qualities of mindful attention: still mind, focused mind, open mind, associative mind, and compassionate mind.*
*Gain 3 creative tools for inducing different qualities of mindful attention.*

Terry Marks - Tarlow, PhD is a clinical psychologist in practice in Santa Monica for over 30 years.
