"Legalization of Marijuana: Legal Perspectives Clinicians Need to Know"
Do you really know how the legalization of recreational marijuana could impact your clients? While marijuana remains illegal federally, California has passed Proposition 64, legalizing recreational use of marijuana, starting January 1st, 2018. Mr. Margolin will his their thoughts on the upcoming changes, from a legal perspective.
This course is intended for beginning to advanced therapists.

Learning Objectives
In successfully completing and attending this presentation,
participants will be able to:
~Identify at least one legal benefit of the decriminalization and increased accessibility of marijuana.~
~Identify at least one concern regarding implemented changes and how they may impact our work with clients and their psychosocial development.~
~Describe the legalization process and consequences of previous laws criminalizing the use of marijuana.~

Bruce Margolin, ESQ is an attorney with over 40 years experience in defending the rights of his clients and equally passionate at working to reform laws he believes to be unjust. Mr. Margolin has been the Director of the Los Angeles chapter of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) for over 30 years. He has been working to reform marijuana laws since the beginning of his career when he saw firsthand that decent, law-abiding people were being locked up with hardened criminals for possession and drug use. He does not promote the use of marijuana, but is a very strong advocate for the end of prohibitive drug laws. In his career, Mr. Margolin has successfully defended thousands of clients, including such notables as Dr. Timothy Leary, in all types of criminal cases from marijuana to murder
