SOMATIC PRACTICES SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP

We are pleased to announce the formation of the Somatic Practices Special Interest Group and invite you to join us for the Founding Meeting:

Sunday, April 29, 2018
Dinner will be served
6pm-8pm
Home in Encino
(location and directions will be sent when participants RSVP)

We will start with getting to know each other, discover who we are and what we do, and begin the process of education and skill development. We have a diversity of experience among us from those who are attuned to their client's breath and posture to those who use physical contact with clients on a massage table.

This will be an informal meeting to get to know one another, share some food, be social, and discuss possibilities for the group.

The purpose of the Somatic Practices SIG is to:
  • Build community among MFTs who engage in somatic oriented practices;
  • Create shared baseline knowledge of somatic psychotherapy;
  • Share our knowledge of somatic practices and enhance and develop our skillfulness as somatic practitioners;
  • Develop peer consultation groups to discuss challenging cases;
  • Educate the broader MFT community regarding somatic practices.

All are welcome for this initial meeting. Participants who are not current members of SFV CAMFT will need to join to participate in subsequent meeting and events.

RSVP by contacting the chair Michael Shiffman,   michael@michaelshiffman.com or 310-445-2160.

You can find out more about the other SIGs here.
